Client #3:
|
President / Owner |
|
Industry:
|
Small Regional Micro-Brewery
in Colorado |
|
Client Desired Outcome:
|
The president wanted assistance
in hiring a director of marketing that would compliment
the current corporate culture and motivate the other
managers to build a more productive, profitable growing
business. |
|
Analysis:
|
We discovered immediately
that low cash flow was a critical issue that needed
addressing before an additional salary was designated
for the budget. The management team members were also
worried that a new director of marketing would change
the current laid-back work culture and cause the dynamics
of the management team to change. Therefore, we re-directed
the president's focus to address the more pressing issues
of cash flow and management culture. |
|
Solution:
|
We closely reviewed the business operations by discussing
the budget and interviewing individual management
team members. After participating in staff meetings
and a board of directors meeting, we made recommendations
on how to re-focus parts of the business operations
to cut costs and shift the corporate culture to bring
about a more professional work environment emphasizing
personal accountability. In the end, we identified
ways to incorporate marketing into the current business
structure as well as identified key attributes of
a part-time controller position, which was essential
for short-term business survival.
